Math Talk

Math talk is practiced daily in room 4. We "exercise" our math thinking by reading a story problem, choosing to add or subtract, and searching to find the answer in a way that "makes sense". The "talk" is a discussion; student to student, student to small group, or student to whole group. We take turns explaining our thinking in a drawing; using tens frames, cubes, dots, whiteboards, etc.
