Zones of Regulation

The Zones of Regulation support the work we do at Ridgeview in teaching Social / Emotional skills. The 4 areas; blue, green, yellow and red, zero in on how a child is feeling, and encourage each child to express and notice how they came to school.  A super excited, jumpy, kiddo is not in trouble. They may be unable to control their impulses, but they can use our tools and strategies to move from a red/yellow zone to a green zone. Recognizing your physical responses to your feelings is a huge connection to make at age 6 and 7. The chart is used whole, small group, or 1:1.
