Oregon Coast Aquarium Visits

Ridgeview enjoyed an interactive presentation today, "All About Whales". Students in grades K, 1, and 2 were able to see the 2 types of whales we may find on our coast- those with teeth, and those with baleen. The presentation allowed little ones to touch real whale bones, see krill, barnacles, baleen, and whale teeth! Thank you Ridgeview PTO for sponsoring such a wonderful experience for our kids.

Tech Grant

Ridgeview has received a technology grant! Mrs. Babcock and Mr. Crist put in hours to help our kids gain more technology. A teacher from each grade attended OETC conference in Portland Feb. 25 and 26.  Mrs. Thompson and I took K-2 workshops on ipad use and curriculum. I was able to talk/listen to Kristin Ziemke (author of Amplify)  about Project Based Learning, what it is, and is not. We all learned lots of new ways to insert tech into our classroom for research, writing, math, and communication with parents. We will let you know when the new iPads for primary arrive!

Book Character Day!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!! Ridgeview celebrated Read Across America this morning by dressing up as our favorite book character. We paraded around RDV in our class line sharing our costumes with the entire school. WOW! Great kids and great parents at RDV!
