Happy Summer Birthdays!

Today we celebrated the great job we did making the most money raised in the October pizza fundraiser. We received free pizzas from Papa's! What a great way to celebrate our summer birthdays! PTO also provided juice.

Citizenship Awards!

Our school counselor came in this morning to present a Citizenship Award to every student in room 4. We were her VERY BEST listeners and learners this year in Social Skills class.

Room 4 Rocks Their Day

It occurred to me this morning- my first graders have grown into mature little second graders. It doesn't happen overnight, it is a progression of tiny steps, inch by inch. Looking around the room I saw independent self-managers. My little learners were engaged, concentrating on their "jobs".

As each student finished their daily routine, they made excellent choices based on their interest. I am so proud of my class. I can send them to second grade ready to tackle anything. Thank you parents for supporting this journey! I see a bright future for every first grader in room 4.

 

First Grade Music Program

Thank you Ms Martin for a night of sweet voices, talented instrumentals, and beautiful children! Our first graders did an amazing job!

 

Geometry

Room 4 started a geometry unit today in iReady math. We explored sides, corners (angles), and how the shapes fit inside each other = congruence. What a great day in first grade math. We will continue to add and subtract ones and tens while learning all about geometry.

Jog-A-Thon 2018!

Room 4 celebrated today! We had a wonderful time at our annual fundraiser. First graders got to run for an audience, sip water, and munch on popcicles. What could be better? We hope our families enjoyed the day as well. Thank you for coming out and cheering us on!
